Hawzah News Agency- In the statement, the council denounced recent US military movements and rhetoric directed at Iran, calling them a violation of international law and a serious threat to regional and global peace and security.
The declaration, released through religious and media channels, said the council views Washington’s posture toward Iran as aggressive and destabilizing, accusing the United States of disregarding international treaties and norms through military pressure and coercive measures.
The scholars’ body also warned against hostile narratives and explicit threats targeting Iran’s senior religious and political leadership, saying such positions further escalate tensions and inflame instability in an already sensitive region.
According to the statement, the council reaffirmed its allegiance and support for the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and expressed solidarity with the Iranian government and nation. It stressed that Iran has the legitimate right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity under international law.
The Bangladeshi Shia scholars characterized US actions as reckless and influenced by what they called external ideological and geopolitical agendas, adding that such policies undermine diplomatic solutions and increase the risk of wider confrontation.
They called on international institutions, particularly the United Nations, to take firm steps to prevent escalation and to oppose any move that could lead to a new conflict in West Asia. The statement urged global bodies to uphold international legal frameworks and resist unilateral military pressure.
The council further said that historical experience shows that external interventions and military campaigns have led to widespread human suffering and long-term instability across multiple regions, and warned against repeating similar scenarios.
Concluding the statement, the group paid tribute to the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, praising his message of independence and resistance to domination, and expressed confidence that, in their view, external aggression against Iran would ultimately fail.
